Privacy Policy

WorthIt, by ELU LABS, LLC · Last updated August 22, 2026

The short version. WorthIt has no accounts and no sign-in. The photo you scan is sent to our server, passed to Anthropic’s AI to identify the item and estimate its value, and discarded. We keep no copy. Everything else — your saved items, values and listings — stays on your iPhone.

The photo you scan

When you scan an item, WorthIt makes a compressed copy of the photo and sends it to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic’s API. The model identifies the item, judges its condition and returns an estimated resale value. That result comes back to your phone.

The image exists only in memory for the few seconds the request takes. It is not written to disk, not saved to a database, and not used to train anything by us. Anthropic’s handling of API data is governed by their privacy policy.

WorthIt asks you to confirm this before the first photo ever leaves your device.

Generating a listing sends only text — the item details and the price you chose. The photo is not sent again.

What stays on your phone

Your scan history lives in the app’s private database on your device: item names, brands, categories, conditions, estimated values, the asking price you picked, any listing text WorthIt wrote for you, and the photos attached to those items.

None of it is uploaded to us or shared with anyone. Deleting an item, clearing your history in Settings, or deleting the app removes it. We cannot recover it, because we never had it.

WorthIt does not ask for access to your whole photo library. It uses Apple’s system picker, which hands over only the images you select.

What we collect

There are no accounts, so we hold nothing that identifies you.

  • No name, email address or contact details.
  • No analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs. WorthIt does not track you across apps or websites.
  • Ordinary server logs, including IP address, kept to enforce rate limits and diagnose faults. They are not linked to any identity or used to build a profile.

Purchases

WorthIt Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. Your purchase is verified on your device through StoreKit, and the fact that you own it is stored locally.

Who else is involved

Anthropic — processes the photo to identify and value the item. Vercel — hosts the server that relays the request. Apple — distributes the app and handles purchases. That is the entire list. We sell nothing to anyone.

Your choices

You can use WorthIt without ever scanning — the app is inert until you choose a photo. Because we hold nothing that identifies you, there is no account to close and no data of yours for us to delete on request. Clearing your history in Settings removes everything WorthIt knows.

Children

WorthIt is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Since we collect no personal data from anyone, this is mostly a formality.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects how your photos are handled, we will update the date at the top of this page and describe the change in the app’s release notes.
